The collection comprises printed copies and sound recordings of commencement addresses and handbooks provided to individuals who presided over or presented at University of California, Irvine commencement ceremonies held at the Bren Events Center. The collection also contains cloth flags used to identify participating groups and a cloth banner used to adorn the stage during the ceremonies. The handbooks include scripts of welcome speeches and introductions, diagrams of the seating arrangements on stage, and instructions for persons officiating and speaking at the ceremonies. The collection contains scripts, transcripts, and audio recordings of some of the commencement speeches.
